Discover the Future: NEXTER Unveils the Versatile Anglo-French 40CTA System at DSEI 2023
• Nexter, a subsidiary of KNDS, showcases its advanced weapon systems that incorporate the 40CTA Anglo-French armament system on the H6-410 platform;
• Nexter, a division of KNDS, displays its diverse array of solutions designed to equip for upcoming conflicts.
The 40CTA: a contemporary artillery solution for various platforms
Nexter, a subsidiary of KNDS, introduces the T40 turret outfitted with the 40mm CTA artillery system. This is a collaborative Anglo-French system developed by the joint venture of Nexter and BAe Systems: CTA International (CTAI). CTAI is wholly committed to the manufacturing of the cannon and its munitions. It uniquely masters the cased telescoped technology, enabling the 40mm CTA ammunition to match the size of a 25mm round while possessing the potency of the 40mm/L40 Bofors ammunition.
This results in a compact system relative to its firepower. Consequently, the T40 is straightforward to incorporate into vehicles, with 1:10 models presented at DSEI: the VBCI MkII infantry fighting vehicle, a tailored turret on the JAGUAR combat and reconnaissance vehicle, and the ground RAPIDFire designed for both ground and aerial close-protection. The JAGUAR and naval RAPIDFire are already operational within the French armed forces.
Nexter’s additional innovations for future combat
Nexter, a branch of KNDS, also showcases its battle-tested solutions tailored for the diverse requirements of any contemporary military, including the CAESAR 8×8, the complete range of ammunition, and the NERVA robotic systems.
• The 8×8 variant is the robust iteration of our long-range artillery platform. With enhanced STANAG level 2 protection, exceptional all-terrain capability granted by its eight wheels, and 36 rounds primed for action, it is ideally suited for a Central European combat zone.
• KNDS’ ammunition portfolio is presented, covering calibers from medium to artillery rounds. This lineup features our latest munitions, including the SHARD 120mm advanced APFSDS and the KATANA 155mm precision-guided round.
• The NERVA compact robots are engineered to tackle a broad spectrum of missions such as surveillance, mine clearance, decoy operations, or NBC detection. With these systems, KNDS boasts a decade of expertise in robotics and is gearing up heavy robots for the warfare of the coming decades.
