Escribano Unveils Groundbreaking Counter-UAS Innovation
ESCRIBANO M&E has demonstrated its capabilities against UAV threats utilizing its GUARDIAN 2.0 RWS, which incorporates a MK-19 40 mm automatic grenade launcher that fires 40×53 HEDP-RF grenades (by Nammo Plasencia) with airburst functionality, in addition to a Dillon M134D minigun. The assessment was conducted at the Médano del Loro test site as part of an exercise led by the Spanish Antiaircraft Artillery Command.

This defense system, in partnership with Nammo Palencia, is recognized as one of the most sophisticated, adaptable, and cost-effective options, leveraging state-of-the-art technology that enables the utilization of existing equipment and ammunition within the NATO forces, yielding highly promising outcomes and underscoring its efficiency compared to other contemporary anti-drone measures.
GUARDIAN 2.0 is a lightweight and compact remote-operated station for 12.7mm, which can be modified for 5.56mm and 7.62mm calibers and is compatible with 40 mm automatic grenade launchers. The 2-axis gyro-stabilized system functions efficiently during both daytime and nighttime for surveillance, target reconnaissance, and tracking missions, and is specifically engineered for integration into a wide variety of platforms and vehicles. All these attributes position this system as an excellent anti-drone defense solution.
