Protolab Oy is excited to announce the delivery of the inaugural Protolab 6×6 Protected Multi-Purpose Vehicles (PMPV) to the Finnish Defence Forces (FDF). Protolab is supplying four PMPVs to the FDF under a contract executed in 2018. The vehicles are currently undergoing operational testing by the FDF as part of a comprehensive modernization initiative aimed at enhancing and upgrading its armored vehicle fleet.
The Protolab PMPV is incredibly maneuverable and agile, capable of fulfilling diverse mission roles including reconnaissance, troop and cargo transport, and command post operations. Amphibious and MEDIVAC versions are also available. The Protolab PMPV is a pioneering 6×6 armored personnel carrier designed to meet the mobility, protection, and communication needs of Special Operations Forces and paramilitary security entities.
This PMPV has been engineered from the ground up, featuring integrated high-level mine and ballistic protection according to customer-defined blast protection standards of STANAG 4569. The vehicle can be outfitted with an array of customer-specific weapon systems.
It can accommodate two crew members and ten fully-equipped soldiers or carry a maximum cargo load of up to 10,000 kg. More compact than standard combat vehicles, the vehicle’s 2.55m width makes it ideal for urban operations, providing superior mobility both on and off-road. Powered by a Cummins 6.7L multifuel engine, it complies with Euro 3 emission standards, allowing for registration as an N3G class truck (off-road).
These innovative design attributes position it as an optimal choice for the challenges confronting contemporary military forces.
