General Dynamics Secures U.S. Army Contract for Advanced Mobile Firepower Solutions
General Dynamics Land Systems, a division of General Dynamics, has revealed today that its Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) solution has been selected by the U.S. Army through a competitive selection process to enhance firepower capabilities for Infantry Brigade Combat Teams (IBCTs). This Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) contract is valued at $1.14 billion.
Crafted by General Dynamics Land Systems, this highly effective, resilient, and agile direct-fire combat vehicle integrates innovative and battle-proven designs to excel against ground threats on the multi-domain battlefield. The MPF vehicle accommodates a four-member crew and is equipped with an advanced thermal viewer, a large-caliber artillery piece, a lightweight chassis and turret, along with a state-of-the-art diesel engine, transmission, and suspension system. It has been meticulously planned for future capability enhancements based on evolving operational requirements.
“We are privileged that the Army has selected our solution for this crucial program,” stated Gordon Stein, Vice President and General Manager of U.S. operations at General Dynamics Land Systems. “Our dedicated team worked diligently to produce our prototypes in alignment with the Army’s evaluation schedule, and we have integrated Soldier feedback into the final product design.
“The MPF vehicle has been specifically engineered for the IBCTs to offer them decisive lethality, enhanced mobility, and robust survivability on present and future battlefields.”
This award also encompasses testing support, logistical assistance, and technical system support.
