Hornet Teams Up with Safran Electronics & Defense for Global Commercial Venture
On December 14, 2021, Hornet and Safran Electronics & Defense formalized a collaboration agreement at Arquus’ headquarters in Satory, France, aimed at enhancing the Hornet series of remotely operated turrets.
Engineered for the Scorpion initiative, these turrets merge Arquus’ proficiency in designing and integrating systems for armored vehicles with Safran’s specialization in inertia, optronics, and electronic systems.
Capitalizing on this alliance, Hornet and Safran Electronics & Defense have united their efforts to elevate the Hornet brand and its offerings on a global scale. This fresh partnership introduces a collaborative marketing approach to leverage the two companies’ extensive international commercial footprints.

Mr. Jean BOŸ, the director of Hornet, expressed enthusiasm over “an exhilarating new strategic partnership focused on capturing new global markets. This agreement amalgamates the finest of our expertise to place Hornet at the forefront of discussions surrounding the protection and equipment of ground vehicles.”
The Hornet Business Unit was officially inaugurated in early 2021. It is dedicated to promoting and marketing the Hornet series, which currently features three remotely controlled turrets: the Hornet, Hornet Lite, and Hornet S.
Hornet remote-operated weapon stations, integrated into the French Army’s Griffon vehicles since 2019, are presently being deployed on all new combat vehicles of the French Army, beginning with the Jaguar and Serval models.
The Hornet RCWS are thus already integral to the French Army’s operational frameworks. They were first deployed in international missions in 2021. Hornet is now eager to welcome additional clients.
