KNDS France and the Indonesian Armed Forces: a robust alliance with over 40 years of collaboration

The enduring alliance with Indonesia is pivotal for KNDS. Hence, KNDS France’s regional office in Jakarta inaugurated in 2022, aims to reinforce and enhance the strategic industrial collaboration with Indonesia over the long haul. KNDS France acknowledges the Indonesian government’s ambition to achieve autonomy and self-sufficiency in vital defense areas and is dedicated to aiding in these objectives.

KNDS France reaffirms its unwavering commitment to foster a long-lasting and sustainable industrial collaboration with BUMN and private sectors through Technology Transfer and Manufacturing Transfer, particularly in the artillery and medium to large caliber munitions sectors, contributing to the Indonesian government’s roadmap to fortify the Indonesian Defense industry.

KNDS advocates for the enhancement of the Indonesian domestic defense and technological industrial base (DTIB).

Consequently, KNDS France is excited to declare the signing of five strategic Memoranda of Understanding in the land defense sector with KEMHAN and Indonesian industries during the INDODEFENCE 2025 exhibition. These mutually advantageous MOUs will bolster KNDS France’s industrial alliance with Indonesia’s DTIB.

These MOUs encompass PT PINDAD for forthcoming collaboration in artillery and large caliber munitions, all involving local production transfer and PT DIRGANTARA for partnership on equipping Indonesian helicopters with 20mm cannons. PT SSE is also included to innovate a counter-UAV variant of the locally produced P2-TIGER, along with BALITBANG to investigate research and development topics concerning land defense.
