Finland Advances with Initial Orders for Joint 6×6 Vehicle Project
The Finnish Defence Forces has finalized the contract with Patria to obtain Patria 6×6 vehicles as a pre-series associated with the collaborative 6×6 vehicle initiative among Latvia, Finland, Estonia, and Patria. These pre-series vehicles will be utilized in testing by the Finnish Defence Forces prior to the definitive serial order indicated by the Letter of Intent signed at the conclusion of August 2021.
“Through pre-series evaluation, the client can thoroughly understand the vehicle, its application, and operational characteristics beforehand, thereby ensuring a smooth and effective transition into operational readiness when the serial order shipments commence. All three vehicles are set to be delivered to the customer in summer 2022,” states Jussi Järvinen, Executive Vice President, Finland Division of Patria.
The joint initiative is advancing as scheduled. In Latvia, the initial vehicles are currently deployed, and serial manufacturing is in progress. Finland has confirmed the choice regarding the pre-series vehicles, while Sweden is preparing to participate in the program. The collaborative 6×6 initiative has garnered interest and remains open to additional nations with the mutual consent of the involved countries.
