KMW Unveils Cutting-Edge IVECO Trakker Cabs for German Armed Forces

Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) has been tasked by IVECO Defence Vehicles S.p.A. to manufacture the driver’s cabins of the GTF2 armored transport vehicles based on the IVECO Trakker model. The entire order includes a manufacturing quantity of 224 armored cabins from KMW, with an option for an additional 824 truck cabins. KMW is accountable for the design, welding, and assembly of the cabins, which also encompasses the electrical installations. The first batch of 224 cabins is expected to be finalized by 2024. The integration of all 1,048 systems is projected to be completed by 2029. KMW holds the position of global leader in the niche of highly secure driver’s cabins. Besides the Bundeswehr, clients of these safety compartments – a proprietary innovation – encompass the British Army, the Swiss Armed Forces, as well as Norway’s military units. Thus far, KMW has delivered extensive protective solutions for over 700 cabins from various truck manufacturers.
