“KNDS and Leonardo Unite for Innovative Product Collaboration”

KNDS Deutschland and the Italian defense giant Leonardo are embarking on a groundbreaking partnership to develop a sophisticated mobile artillery system. The announcement came during the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) in Amsterdam, led by Florian Hohenwarter, the new CEO of KNDS Deutschland, alongside Roberto Cingolani, the CEO and General Manager of Leonardo.

This innovative artillery system will be built upon the robust KNDS Artillery Gun Module and an enhanced version of Leonardo’s advanced wheeled vehicle platform. Both firms aim to strengthen their industrial collaboration, enhancing supply chain resilience and accelerating time-to-market. They plan to present their joint solution for the forthcoming procurement program of the Italian Army.

The integration of Leonardo’s cutting-edge electronics, C5I, and UAV defense technologies with KNDS’s state-of-the-art artillery system is poised to dramatically elevate the system’s combat power and operational effectiveness.
