“L3Harris Partners with U.S. Army to Revolutionize Ground Vehicle Technology with MOSA”

L3Harris Technologies and the U.S. Army’s Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) have formalized a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) to join forces on implementing the Army’s Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) for its terrestrial combat vehicles.

The Department of Defense’s MOSA strategy aims to expedite development cycles, decrease expenses, and guarantee that military personnel are mission-ready across land, air, and marine environments. As a collaborative partner, L3Harris will provide insights on an open-systems strategy designed to minimize risks, enhance architectural design, and validate the technical viability of mission systems, facilitating swift upgrades for future technologies.

“Our expertise in multi-domain open systems and investments in ground vehicles bolster our standing within the industry,” stated Hugh McFadden, Director of Strategy and Product Development at L3Harris. “Consequently, we are delivering state-of-the-art technology and accelerating its deployment to the U.S. Army’s Next-Generation Combat Vehicles.”

The CRADA established with the Army’s DEVCOM GVSC promotes data exchange and collaboration with the U.S. Army’s scientific and technological initiatives. It also supports future industry compliance with MOSA standards.

L3Harris already supplies open-systems knowledge and advanced mission systems for next-gen ground combat vehicles and will actively seek further opportunities to aid DEVCOM GVSC.
