Australia Welcomes Its First THeMIS from Milrem Robotics

Milrem Robotics

The foremost European developer of robotics and autonomous systems, Milrem Robotics, has forged a distribution and maintenance accord with XTEK Ltd. and has dispatched the maiden THeMIS Unmanned Ground Vehicle to the Australian homeland security expert.

This inaugural THeMIS will be utilized by XTEK Ltd. for trials, assessments, and demonstration objectives. Aside from Australia, the THeMIS UGV has been procured by eleven nations, seven of which are NATO allies, including Estonia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, the UK, and the US.

After the endorsement of a Memorandum of Understanding at the end of last year, Milrem Robotics additionally formalized an agreement with XTEK designating the Australian homeland security expert as the singular distributor of the THeMIS UGV, the Type-X Robotic Combat Vehicle, and Milrem’s Intelligent Functions Integration Kit (MIFIK) in Australia and New Zealand.

“I am excited about the collaboration established with XTEK to deliver the most cutting-edge robotic technologies to Australia,” stated Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics. “In partnership with XTEK, we can stay close to our clients and ensure ongoing exceptional support.”

Philippe Odouard, Managing Director of XTEK Ltd., remarked: “The arrival of our first Milrem Robotics THeMIS marks a significant milestone for XTEK. The THeMIS platform is perfectly fitted for a diverse array of applications within the Australian Defence Force, particularly the Australian Army. It also serves as an ideal platform for us to further exhibit our ‘AirWolf’ sensor-to-shooter software, which transmits targeting data from UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) to advanced combat-ready UGVs like THeMIS.”

XTEK possesses substantial experience and proficiency in the distribution, maintenance, and enhanced services of unmanned vehicles.

The company’s well-established maintenance facilities encompass a Logistics Engineering Business Unit situated in Canberra, where a team of technicians and trainers with significant Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robot maintenance know-how can deliver servicing for Milrem Robotics’ UGVs and RCVs.

The organization intends to utilize its Adelaide Manufacturing Centre and innovative XTclave™ technology for groundbreaking ballistic protection design, along with additional engineering and manufacturing solutions for Milrem Robotics’ UGV systems.
