Global Drill Medusa 2020 Launches This Monday!
The international aeronautics training operation Medusa 2020 is set to commence on Monday, continuing until December 6.
The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus indicated that the operation will unfold in three phases, focusing on search and rescue, cyber warfare, surface maneuvers, and naval formations.
This aeronautical operation has been conducted since 2017 as part of the trilateral partnership between Cyprus, Greece, and Egypt. This year, the collaboration will be enriched with the involvement of military forces from France and the United Arab Emirates.
The operation will take place in the larger vicinity of Alexandria, Egypt, within the Cairo FIR.
Cyprus will contribute with the offshore patrol vessel (OPV) Andreas Ioannides, along with a Military Liaison Officer to facilitate coordination of the exercise.
