Polaris Government and Defense is advancing its squad-ready DAGOR® off-road vehicle with the launch of the DAGOR® A1. The DAGOR® A1 delivers enhanced performance and features with superior mobility and functionality for clients, including U.S. Special Forces, the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM), numerous European armed forces, and additional international units.

“DAGOR® is utilized globally. Its versatile and modular framework permits it to accomplish various missions and adapt to emerging threats,” stated Mark McCormick, senior director of Polaris Government and Defense. “DAGOR® A1 is our response to operators requesting increased payload and mobility, with a boost of over 20 percent in total load capacity. The DAGOR® A1 is perfectly designed to enhance tactical mobility as well as command and control for infantry units at the squad, company level, and above.”

The modularity of the DAGOR continues to support mission customization, including the Squad Carrier setup, the Personnel Recovery Kit, or Canada’s Ultra-Light Combat Vehicle (ULCV) configuration. Newly-designed components for mission adaptation comprise fuel or water can holders that can be swiftly and effortlessly mounted in various locations, along with new cargo box aircraft rails, RF antenna mounts, and a tailgate that is aircraft rail compatible, optimizing the tailgate’s 500-pound (227-kilogram) capacity for practical storage solutions.

DAGOR® provides remarkable off-road capability, payload and transport efficiency – accommodating up to nine soldiers and their equipment, for a total load of up to 4,000 pounds (1,814 kilograms) in the DAGOR® A1. An elevated ride height – even at maximum load – ensures improved obstacle clearance and enhances off-road maneuverability. The DAGOR® A1 retains air-drop, sling-load, and internal tactical air transport capabilities on CH47 and CH53 helicopters from the original ultralight vehicle platform. Moreover, the DAGOR® has successfully undergone hot weather testing in the Gulf Region.

The DAGOR® A1 also integrates robustness and enhanced operator functionality. An in-dash power management display provides in-cabin access to vehicle system status – like battery charge levels – to support communications and silent watch operations. Extended lighting features and built-in wiring enhance the practicality of the open-concept DAGOR®.

“Polaris is focused on delivering continuous innovation to our clients as the dynamic commercial sector demands,” explained McCormick. “Our military clients globally gain from our pioneering spirit and refined large-scale processes to deploy the latest technology, providing us the ability to consistently deliver cutting-edge mobility solutions to the warfighter.”

Polaris® is under agreement to supply CANSOFCOM with the DAGOR® A1 with a specialized ULCV package. Deliveries of the DAGOR® ULCV commenced in 2017 and will conclude this year.

The DAGOR® utilizes a widely available commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) driveline, controls, and components to streamline mechanic and operator training, featuring a diesel/JP8 COTS engine chosen for its optimal combination of power, weight, and size. The unique design of the DAGOR facilitates ease of operation, maintenance, and sustainment to support combat missions. The open design of the cargo bed maximizes loading area, versatility, and accessibility for essential mission gear. Polaris® offers support for DAGOR® vehicles in the field, including parts through DLA and service via a global network of Field Service Reps (FSRs).
