In 2014, Nexter acquired the Belgian and Italian firms Mecar and Simmel Difesa to advance the group’s munitions ventures alongside Nexter Munitions. This significant transaction enabled the enhancement of the product lineup across various munitions categories (artillery, armored vehicles, medium-caliber, naval, infantry, and mortars), while also broadening the group’s global presence.
