Collins Aerospace Landing $493 Million Indefinite Contract to Enhance USAF Reconnaissance Sensor Systems
Raytheon Technologies’ Collins Aerospace division will assist the U.S. Air Force in sustaining electro-optical/infrared sensors of the U-2 Dragon Lady reconnaissance jets under a prospective $493 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity agreement.
On Wednesday, Collins Aerospace announced it secured a $66.2 million task assignment that will encompass the initial year of assistance for the service branch’s U-2 aircraft initiative.
The two entities have also finalized a $114.6 million budget for the subsequent second and third option terms.
The partnership of Collins Aerospace and Lockheed Martin’s (NYSE: LMT) renowned Skunk Works division successfully supported the Air Force’s deployment of an enhanced iteration of the Senior Year Electro Optical Reconnaissance System on the U-2 aircraft last year.
