Oshkosh Defense Secures $141 Million Contract for Enhanced FMTV A2 Production

Oshkosh Defense, LLC, a subsidiary of Oshkosh Corporation, revealed today that the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) has issued a $141 Million purchase order for 414 Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles A2 (FMTV A2) along with 56 FMTV trailers. 

The FMTV A2 serves as an upgraded iteration of the FMTV A1P2, providing enhanced force protection, increased payload capacity, exceptional off-road maneuverability, boosted engine performance, and an improved electrical system.  These cutting-edge features empower the FMTV A2 to undertake a diverse array of assignments, ranging from combat operations and logistical support to contributing in humanitarian assistance efforts.

“Since we were granted the FMTV A2 production contract in 2018, we have collaborated closely with the U.S. Army to enhance the platform and integrate further capabilities,” stated Pat Williams, Chief Program Officer for Oshkosh Defense. “We are assured that we are delivering the top-performing medium tactical vehicle globally.”

With the announcement of today’s order, Oshkosh Defense has secured orders for 1,412 FMTV A2s and 800 FMTV trailers, culminating in a total order value of $627 Million to date.
