FNSS has secured a contract focused on enhancing capabilities & extending the lifespan of Advanced Armoured Personnel Carriers (AAPC) within the Turkish Land Forces’ arsenal. Under this agreement, several AAPCs will be outfitted with cutting-edge subsystems while maintaining their amphibious functionalities. The AAPCs set for upgrades include ACV-15 configurations supplied to the Turkish Armed Forces in the early 2000s by FNSS. This initiative is designed to bolster the vehicles’ performance, functionalities, and lifespan for an additional 20+ years.

In response to emerging threats and advancements in mission equipment and weaponry, the objective is to modernize AAPCs with selective technologies and systems. FNSS’s package encompasses upgrade focuses such as advancements in mobility, armor, life support, electronic systems, situational awareness, and firepower. Within the framework of the capability enhancement initiative, the vehicles will be equipped with a dual gun remote-controlled weapon system alongside a close-range surveillance mechanism, auxiliary power unit, air conditioning system, automatic fire suppression system, spall liners, driver vision enhancement system, and navigational aids. Additionally, essential engineering efforts will be undertaken to incorporate a gunshot detection system. An extensive vehicle refurbishment—including engine & transmission—will also occur under this contract. All these enhancements aim to improve reliability and durability while augmenting mission capabilities and minimizing maintenance during operational deployments.
