
Saab Secures Norwegian Deal for Cutting-Edge Carl-Gustaf M4 System
The Norwegian Military Forces have established a framework contract with Saab for the Carl-Gustaf ® M4. Saab has obtained an initial request for Carl-Gustaf M4 weapon systems, with deliveries scheduled for 2021.
The newly established framework contract enables the Norwegian client to place orders for Carl-Gustaf M4, related equipment, and training systems throughout a 7-year timeframe.
The Norwegian Military has utilized the Carl-Gustaf M2 system since the early 1970s. Currently, the M2 and M3 versions are in operation within the Norwegian Military.
“We are pleased to welcome the newest user of the Carl-Gustaf M4. It’s a significant achievement to continue our support for the Norwegian Military, this time with our advanced Carl-Gustaf M4,” comments Görgen Johansson, head of Saab’s Dynamics business sector.
Carl-Gustaf M4 represents the latest iteration of the lightweight, shoulder-fired, multi-functional weapon system. It provides users with a broad spectrum of engagement options and empowers forces to maintain agility and effectiveness in various situations. The M4 enhances the system’s impressive capabilities, offering superior accuracy, reduced weight, and compatibility with future advancements. This model is also compatible with advanced targeting systems and forthcoming technological developments such as programmable ammunition. Since its debut in 2014, Saab has secured agreements with fourteen distinct countries for the Carl-Gustaf M4.
