Egypt Enhances Its Air Power with Cutting-Edge Boeing CH-47F Chinooks
The U.S. Army has granted Boeing a contract to manufacture 12 new CH-47F Chinooks for the Egyptian Air Force. This $426 million international military sale allows Egypt to modernize its fleet of CH-47D helicopters with the state-of-the-art F model, taking advantage of its sophisticated multi-mission functionalities.
“The F-model helicopters will significantly amplify Egypt’s Chinook capabilities and assist in effectively achieving its heavy-lift goals,” stated Ken Eland, vice president and H-47 program director. “Boeing’s collaboration with the Egyptian Air Force remains robust as we persist in our efforts to upgrade their fleet.”
The CH-47F represents a sophisticated multi-mission helicopter tailored for the U.S. Army and allied defense forces. It features a fully integrated digital cockpit management system, Common Avionics Architecture System cockpit, and enhanced cargo-handling abilities, all of which enhance the aircraft’s operational performance and handling attributes.
“Boeing is dedicated to reinforcing the defense modernization agenda of the Egyptian armed forces, ensuring optimal capabilities for Egypt’s national defense and security,” added Vince Logsdon, vice president of Boeing International Business Development.
