Tailored all-encompassing support solutions are essential to Leonardo’s global strategy, ensuring operational productivity and efficacy, along with accessibility.
Rome 25 September 2025 – The Defence Ministry of Kuwait has chosen to engage an in-service support extension option for the Kuwait Air Force’s Eurofighter fleet program, with Leonardo acting as the prime contractor. Under this updated service agreement, integrated Logistics Support and Training will be administered locally by Leonardo Aviation Services at Salem Al Sabah Base until December 2029. This latest achievement marks a further enhancement of the strategic partnership between Leonardo and Kuwait.

Kuwait procured 28 Eurofighter Typhoons in 2016 to bolster the nation’s air defense system. Deliveries of the aircraft to the Kuwait Air Force began at the end of 2021, and the majority of the ordered jets are now operational. The aircraft, manufactured in Italy, incorporate the latest advanced production standards available today.
Leonardo Aviation Services, a Kuwaiti entity, operates as an enabler and supporter of the Kuwait Air Force, offering integrated logistical aid – including Engineering Support, Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul & Enhancement, Supply Chain Management – along with comprehensive training solutions for both air and ground personnel operating the Eurofighter Typhoons.
Delivering extensive support solutions is crucial to Leonardo’s worldwide approach to effectively empower the most efficient and proficient operations of its technologies through sophisticated tailored services and accessibility. The support initiatives executed in Kuwait will optimize the high level of capability offered by the Eurofighter Typhoons to meet national air defense goals.
