TEXELIS Unveils CELERIS: Revolutionizing Mobility Design Solutions!

TEXELIS INTRODUCES CELERIS
FOR INNOVATIVE MOBILITY DESIGN SOLUTIONS

On November 28, Texelis officially unveiled CELERIS, its cutting-edge turnkey solution for vehicle mobility.

CELERIS is directed towards OEMs and institutional collaborators seeking to enhance their offerings by incorporating advanced, high-performance, military-standard mobility into their vehicles, without the complexities of modifying or creating a new mobility system.

Additionally, CELERIS presents a distinctive opportunity for companies aspiring to venture into the vehicle sector, allowing them to base their offerings on a fully developed, validated, and reliable solution.

Crafting a new 4×4 is an incredibly demanding undertaking. It necessitates expertise across various domains, from mobility to armor and systems integration, in a highly competitive industry.

Any OEM aspiring to incorporate a 4×4 vehicle into its offerings has two choices. The first is to build on an existing commercial chassis, thus benefiting from reduced purchase costs and wide access to spare parts. However, this choice does not provide a military-grade mobility solution, does not allow total control over the components and their configurations, lacks guaranteed support and lifecycle management for the vehicle, and necessitates significant modifications to meet military vehicle requirements, effectively nullifying the cost argument while presenting numerous technical challenges.

The alternative is to create a tailored mobility solution. This strategy ensures superior performance, control over components, lifelong support, and a fully aligned offering with the actual requirements of end-users. Nonetheless, in-house development can be costly and only becomes a prudent investment if commercial success is assured.

With CELERIS, Texelis merges the benefits of both approaches: a comprehensive, seamless, custom-designed, turnkey solution, effectively equipping partners with their unique mobility solution, tailored to their requirements, along with a personalized support system.

CELERIS 4×4 includes 12 foundational kits, such as axles, powerpacks, or steering mechanisms, in addition to over 30 optional kits, depending on the specific configuration, intended use, and required performance.

It can accommodate both self-supporting body vehicles and ladder-frame designs, allowing for a diverse array of architectures and applications. Weighing around 4.5 tonnes, including tires, CELERIS 4×4 can support vehicles with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) ranging from 13 to 18 tonnes.

At the core of CELERIS 4×4 are the Texelis T750 axles, featuring a rear axle option available with trailing arms (9.5T load) or double wishbone (8.5T load). The drivetrain integrates a Cummins ISL9 Euro 3 diesel engine, generating 375hp, paired with an Allison 3200SP transmission featuring two speeds plus a neutral transfer case.

This setup allows a partnering OEM the flexibility to select certain kits while employing other components developed internally or planned for in-house development, fostering or refining strategic capabilities.

Moreover, CELERIS can prove instrumental for nations or OEMs aiming to establish or expand their automotive sectors within tight timelines. It is particularly advantageous for companies seeking to increase local content as part of broader contracts.

CELERIS greatly benefits from the expertise accumulated by the company through the Scorpion program for the French Army.

For the last six years, Texelis has been engaged in the Serval program for the French Army, acquiring significant knowledge and proficiency in mobility kit development and integration, as well as the processes required to qualify a vehicle and plan its entire lifecycle.

This experience has enabled Texelis to evolve from its traditional role of designing and supplying axles to delivering comprehensive mobility solutions and collaborating with major OEMs such as French defense leader Nexter, a part of KNDS. This expertise is now available for new partnerships.

In pursuit of its ambitious objectives for Serval and to meet the official mandates of the French DGA, Texelis has compiled a complete, packaged offering by harnessing the best from its partner companies. This team will continue to collaborate with Texelis to enhance the performance and capabilities of CELERIS.

The Serval program, currently in production with 2,000 units ordered, guarantees long-term commitment and lower ownership costs for fleets globally.

With CELERIS, any OEM eager to discover a new mobility solution will find a reliable and validated option at a highly competitive price, accompanied by over 30 years of lifecycle management and guaranteed access to spare parts, along with all future advancements within the CELERIS community.

CELERIS is not merely a rolling chassis to adapt to an armored shell. It represents a complete ecosystem where Texelis experts contribute their knowledge in mobility and integration, assisting clients throughout the full development of prototypes and the initial series of vehicles. They subsequently provide all existing documentation and setup tools, effectively empowering Texelis’ partners with autonomy and control over the vehicle, its settings, and its support.

As a comprehensive ecosystem, CELERIS will continue to evolve and expand. A 6×6 variant is already being developed by Texelis and is presently open for discussions.

TEXELIS has already secured its first launch customer for CELERIS and is enthusiastic about broadening its international presence.
