Oshkosh Defense has declared that the U.S. Army has finalized another acquisition for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) initiative. This includes 409 vehicles, 1,984 installed kits, 82 packaged kits, along with associated services and support. The total value of this order, exceeding $176 million, marks the fourth request for JLTVs since the agreement was granted in August 2015.
“The JLTV initiative is delivering to our Soldiers and Marines the most advanced light tactical vehicle globally,” stated Dave Diersen, Oshkosh Defense’s vice president and general manager of Joint Programs. “We have initiated the delivery of low-rate production vehicles to the Army and Marine Corps for government evaluation in various environments across the nation, and we are pleased with its performance to date.” The vehicles and kits for this latest order are set to commence delivery in late 2017.
