“Forging New Horizons: EDGE Group and São Paulo State Unite in Strategic Cooperation”
EDGE Group, recognized as one of the foremost advanced technology and defense organizations globally, persistently strengthens its dedication as a valued collaborator in the strategically significant Brazilian market by partnering with the São Paulo State Government on a comprehensive alliance that will see both parties engage across numerous sectors in São Paulo.
The official initiation of a project aimed at the development of a Collaboration Agreement and Work Plan was formalized by the Secretary of Public Security of São Paulo, Guilherme Muraro Derrite, alongside Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director & CEO of EDGE Group. A key aspect of this agreement involved an additional signing pertaining to significant public safety endeavors incorporating technology. This signing was observed by His Excellency the Governor of the State of São Paulo, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas, and His Excellency the UAE Ambassador to Brazil, Saleh Ahmad Salem Alzaraim Alsuwaidi.
This follows up on the initial declaration from EDGE in January 2024, which outlined the group’s plan to advance the initiative with a preliminary ‘Proof of Concept’ (PoC) phase aimed at showcasing how its cutting-edge solutions could lead to enhanced public safety and security, diminish crime rates, and ultimately elevate the quality of life for the community.
Reflecting on this event, Secretary Derrite remarked: “This partnership exemplifies the strength of cooperation and innovation in addressing security challenges. It is a collaboration that can yield direct advantages for the state’s public safety.”
Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director & CEO of EDGE Group, stated: “There are two significant accomplishments here that warrant emphasis. First, the fortification of the invaluable partnership EDGE has cultivated with the Government of São Paulo, extending to various sectors within Brazil, including local governance, civil society, and armed forces—all rooted in the commitment to uphold safety and security. By imparting our expertise and experience, and by offering advanced anti-crime surveillance technologies to major cities like São Paulo, we can assure that local communities and enterprises can trust in a more sustainable and secure future.
“Secondly, the signing of this agreement has allowed us to clearly illustrate how EDGE can leverage its cutting-edge technological capabilities to aid the city of São Paulo in public security initiatives, including CCTV, AI, sophisticated surveillance and reconnaissance, as well as aerial solutions like intelligent drones, among other innovative, complementary solutions available in EDGE’s extensive portfolio of services and products.”
This pioneering project is the first of its kind in Latin America and will serve as a pilot for future initiatives across various districts in São Paulo and other metropolitan regions in Brazil.
