Oshkosh Defense Chosen to Craft Cutting-Edge EHETS Trailer for U.S. Army

Oshkosh Defense, a fully-owned branch of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK), declared today that the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) has granted Oshkosh Defense a contract to manufacture Enhanced Heavy Equipment Transporter System (EHETS) trailers for the U.S. Army. Oshkosh will implement the contract with assistance from its primary subcontractor, Broshuis B.V.

The competitively secured five-year requirement contract is appraised at $263.2 Million for an estimated 466 trailers and associated logistical products and support services. Under the initial delivery order, appraised at $37.6 Million, Oshkosh Defense will fabricate five test trailers for Product Verification Testing (PVT), Operational Testing (OT), Logistics Development, and Engineering Development, along with 68 production trailers.

“One of Oshkosh’s fundamental strengths is collaborating with our clients to create and provide vehicles and trailers precisely engineered to satisfy rigorous military specifications and endure the challenges of contemporary combat,” remarked Pat Williams, Vice President and General Manager of U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps Programs for Oshkosh Defense. “The EHETS trailer exemplifies our dedication to fulfilling our client’s mission objectives. We are honored that the U.S. Army has once again approached us to deliver another mission-essential trailer,” Williams concluded.

Oshkosh Defense has meticulously crafted the EHETS trailer to be towed by the Oshkosh Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) A1, currently operational with the U.S. Army. The integrated HET A1 and EHETS trailer setup is engineered for self-loading and unloading and can transport a payload of up to 90 tons, enabling it to convey the heaviest Army tracked vehicles, comprising both current and upcoming versions of Main Battle Tanks (MBTs), while securing European road permissions at designated payloads.
