“Empowering National Industry: Leonardo and Tinexta Unite for Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation”
a prominent organization in Digital Assurance, Cyber Defense, Credit Analytics & Oversight, and Innovation & Branding services, alongside Leonardo S.p.A., the sole Italian multinational firm dedicated to the management of pivotal technologies for safety, have declared that they have sealed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on Industry 4.0 and data protection initiatives for the country’s manufacturing sector.
The collaboration between Leonardo and Tinexta seeks to deliver the market with effective and comprehensive solutions to mitigate the risk of cyber threats amidst the digital transformation of both public and private entities.
As per the most recent report from the Italian Association for Information Security (CLUSIT – Associazione Italiana per la Sicurezza Informatica), cyber attacks on a global scale surged by 12% in 2020 compared to the previous year. A study by Swascan (Tinexta Group) indicates that Italy holds the fifth position – following the US, Canada, France, and the UK – among nations reporting data regarding enterprises affected by Ransomware incidents.
Thus, the objective of the agreement between Leonardo and Tinexta is to safeguard the Italian manufacturing domain from digital dangers, especially in the sectors identified by the Yoroi report (Tinexta Group) as the most susceptible to attacks last year: manufacturing industries, financial service companies, the textile and fashion sector, and utilities.
The accord stipulates the amalgamation of the Tinexta Cyber Business Unit’s solutions with the capabilities and expertise of Leonardo’s center of excellence for cyber security and the Global Security Operation Centre located in Chieti.
Additionally, Leonardo and Tinexta will merge their respective specialized technology components in the fields of Internet of Things (IOT), Operational Technology (OT), Digital Assurance, distributed digital identity informed by BlockChain, Digital Onboarding, and remote validation, into cohesive solutions for the supervision of critical national infrastructures. This will facilitate the assurance of the legal integrity of transactions across all operations utilizing such technologies, enabling entire processes to be conducted in a natively digital manner, assured by InfoCert (Tinexta Group), a European Trust Service Provider.
“Together with Leonardo, we maintain a robust emphasis on cybersecurity and digital assurance, convinced that these elements represent strategic advantages for economic revival and the progression of the national economic landscape – commented Pier Andrea Chevallard, Chief Executive Officer of Tinexta S.p.A. – Indeed, having secure digital infrastructures is a fundamental condition for business competitiveness, and at Tinexta Group, we are devoted to their development and continuous enhancement, precisely through the integration of elements of trust validation and information security. The Memorandum we are disclosing today was thus conceived to leverage the superior expertise and most innovative offerings of two significant Italian entities for the safeguarding of millions of critical data points and for the advancement and advocacy of the concept of digital trust, which is vital for the legal validity of countless everyday digital transactions”.
“Ensuring the cyber defense of our enterprises equates to safeguarding their operational continuity, shielding them from the substantial costs associated with cyber crime in both economic and reputational aspects, and enabling them to embrace, with
confidence, the digital transformation trajectory that is, and will increasingly be, a crucial prerequisite for sustainable advancement,” remarked Tommaso Profeta, Managing Director of Leonardo’s Cyber Security Division – The collaboration with Tinexta and the synergy between our offerings aimed at cyber security and digital assurance empowers us to further broaden the spectrum of solutions for digitization and security, among the foundational pillars of our Be Tomorrow – Leonardo 2030 strategic framework.”
The partnership will be overseen by a Joint Steering Committee, wherein the senior management of both organizations will participate, establishing the strategic course of programs and projects, alongside a Management Committee tasked with pinpointing and overseeing specific initiatives.
