
Leonardo DRS Secures $94 Million Deal for Cutting-Edge Infrared Optics to Enhance Army Sniper Capabilities
Leonardo DRS, Inc. has publicly shared that it has secured a new agreement to manufacture its state-of-the-art infrared weapon sights for the U.S. Army infantry snipers. This firm-fixed-price agreement from the Army’s Contracting Command amounts to over $94 million across a span of five years.
In accordance with the agreement, Leonardo DRS will create the cutting-edge system recognized as the Family of Weapon Sights – Sniper, Improved Night / Day Observation Device Block III. The sophisticated infrared weapon sight is crafted for sniper or reconnaissance personnel who need extended-range target detection, environmental monitoring, and an ability to track bullet trajectory.
