“EDGE Group and São José dos Campos: Sparking a New Chapter of Innovation Together”

EDGE, a distinguished entity in the realms of innovative technology and defense sectors worldwide, has forged a comprehensive collaboration agreement with the local administration of São José dos Campos in São Paulo, Brazil. This partnership will encompass joint endeavors in cutting-edge technology, intelligent urban development, education, and talent cultivation. This initiative amplifies EDGE’s presence in the strategically crucial Latin American marketplace, providing a substantial edge to its business ambitions throughout Brazil and the regional defense arena.

The Memorandum of Understanding was ratified by Anderson Farias, the Mayor of São José dos Campos, and Rodrigo Torres, CFO of EDGE Group, at the Mayor’s office within City Hall.

São José dos Campos stands as Brazil’s foremost hub for industrial manufacturing and technological advancement, hosting the nation’s largest aerospace and defense companies, including SIATT, which specializes in smart weaponry and high-tech systems; EDGE secured a 50% stake in this firm in 2023. The city is also home to many of Brazil’s premier universities as well as technology and research institutions.

Rodrigo Torres, CFO of EDGE Group, remarked: “EDGE is embarking on a fresh growth journey in Brazil and the surrounding region, and the invaluable partnerships we have nurtured with key stakeholders and local authorities are forming the foundation from which we can reap substantial benefits. A prime example of this cooperation is this agreement with São José dos Campos, a globally recognized hub of innovation and technical excellence, which will enable us to meet our business objectives, bolster the local economy, and promote sustainable development in advanced technology while cultivating exceptional talent. On behalf of EDGE Group, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Mayor and the residents of this forward-thinking city.”

In collaboration with the Government of the State of São Paulo, the local administration of São José dos Campos has provided unwavering support for EDGE’s entry into the Brazilian market, fostering a favorable environment for growth and job creation, while ensuring the group can tap into the region’s robust supply chains. Additionally, together with EDGE, SIATT is in the process of expanding its headquarters and manufacturing facilities in the city from 1,000 square meters to nearly 7,000 square meters, generating over 800 related employment opportunities.
