GKN Aerospace and Lockheed Martin Strengthen Partnership for PAC-3 Missile Advancement
GKN Aerospace has finalized a subsequent agreement with Lockheed Martin to furnish launch tubes for the PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) through 2025. In addition to this subsequent pact, a supplementary contract was established for a development initiative commencing in October 2021, focusing on tooling, prototype units, and qualification essential for the production of the mid-section and seeker housing, with the fabrication of PAC-3 MSE components set to commence in 2024.
For over three decades, GKN Aerospace’s Fokker division has utilized established manufacturing techniques and expertise to effectively support the PAC-3 initiative through the creation of lightweight composite launch tubes.
Krisstie Kondrotis, President – Defense Sector, GKN Aerospace stated: “Our robust partnership with Lockheed Martin regarding the PAC-3 is founded on our exemplary performance, commitment, and service to our clients. I am honored by our team’s dedication and we value the chance to enhance our participation in backing the PAC-3.” The PAC-3 missile family represents a combat-tested interceptor that protects against various incoming dangers, including tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and hostile aircraft.
