0529 EBACE

Leonardo is expanding its service reach and capabilities in the rotorcraft sector by launching new initiatives in the UK through a strategic partnership with Aldenham Aviation Ltd.

Leveraging an established facility and infrastructure at London Elstree Aerodrome, operations are set to introduce Part 145 maintenance capabilities by this fall. Further projects in association with Aldenham Aviation Ltd. will broaden these capabilities, all of which enhance the existing service framework and elevate efficiency alongside our regional partners. The new capabilities will operate in close cooperation with Leonardo Belgium S.A. Logistics Centre, addressing the growing demand for Leonardo commercial helicopters in the UK and Ireland, particularly within the VIP-Corporate domain where Leonardo stands as the leading OEM. The facility will offer premium support services, featuring the latest innovations in technology following the introduction of the Agusta brand, specifically tailored to satisfy the needs of passenger transport providers.

Over 175 helicopters, including AW109s, AW169s, AW139s, and AW189s, are currently active in the region for passenger transport, offshore logistics, and public services, with the advanced AW09 single engine anticipated to join, further enhancing Leonardo’s fleet expansion. As a result, Leonardo is committed to ensuring improved responsiveness and service quality by delivering technical and maintenance support that aligns with the evolving market needs.

Owned and operated by Aldenham Aviation Ltd., London Elstree Aerodrome is ideally positioned to serve London and the South-East region, given the high and increasing frequency of rotorcraft operations in this part of England. With a flight time to London of merely 8 minutes by helicopter, the airfield accommodates all general aviation and rotorcraft operations, featuring dedicated ground handlers and Flight Information Service Operators, 24/7 refueling, aircraft maintenance, hangar facilities, and multiple active flying schools and aviation businesses.
