
Navy Receives Cutting-Edge Multi-Role Laser Weapon System from LM
Lockheed Martin has supplied the U.S. Navy with a high-energy laser system exceeding 60+ kW, encompassing an integrated optical-dazzler and reconnaissance feature (HELIOS). This marks the inaugural tactical laser weapon system designed for integration into pre-existing naval vessels, offering directed energy capabilities to the fleet. Crafted to be adaptable and modular, the versatile HELIOS system will furnish tactically pertinent laser weapon functionalities, serving as an essential component in a multi-layered defense strategy.
