Joseph Rank Takes the Helm of Lockheed Martin’s Saudi Ventures

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) proudly announces the appointment of Brigadier General (Retired) Joseph (Joe) Rank as the new Chief Executive for Lockheed Martin Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, Rank will spearhead the growth of the company in the Kingdom, focusing on cultivating essential partnerships and advancing the Kingdom’s strategic business objectives.
Richard H. (Rick) Edwards, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin International, expressed confidence in Rank’s leadership: “I am confident that under Joe’s leadership we will drive this strategic relationship to greater heights in the Kingdom, supporting Vision 2030, while strengthening regional and global security.” His extensive regional knowledge and experience are expected to significantly enhance local operations and partnership ventures within the Kingdom.
Edwards further acknowledged Alan Chinoda’s noteworthy contributions during his tenure, stating, “I would also like to thank Alan Chinoda for his outstanding contributions and leadership during his seven years in Saudi Arabia. During Alan’s tenure, we have strengthened the Lockheed Martin brand as a trusted defense and security partner to the Kingdom.”
Rank brings an impressive background to this role, having recently completed 31 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Army. His recent position was in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where he acted as the deputy assistant secretary of defense for Middle East Policy. His nearly decade-long experience in the region includes high-level roles as senior defense attaché in the United Arab Emirates (2015-2017), Jordan (2011-2014), Lebanon (2010-2011), and Yemen (2004-2006). Notably, he is fluent in Arabic and holds a Master of Arts in Islamic Studies from the University of Virginia.
