
Lockheed Martin Welcomes Former Brigadier General Abdullah Alajmi as New Space Strategy Lead for Saudi Arabia
Lockheed Martin has today revealed the appointment of Retired Brigadier General Abdullah Alajmi as the organization’s new Director of Space Business Development for Saudi Arabia. Alajmi takes on this role from Riyadh, where he will unify and bolster the Kingdom’s space initiatives, while strategically elevating Lockheed Martin’s footprint in the region.
Aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives, Alajmi’s updated responsibilities entail enhancing collaborations with governmental and commercial organizations to nurture the advancement of innovative technologies – all aimed at reinforcing national capabilities and strengthening the nascent space industry in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, Alajmi will assist in overseeing scientific experiments and fostering international research partnerships, along with the management of forthcoming space missions.

Before joining Lockheed Martin, Alajmi held a position in the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) focusing on Remote Sensing and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) as well as Space domains. He has also taken on the role of Director of the Satellite Directorate for the Saudi Ministry of Defense and has contributed to numerous space committees organized by the Kingdom and the Gulf Cooperation Council for nearly two decades. Alajmi possesses a Master’s Degree in Science with a concentration on the Military Application of Remote Sensing, awarded by Oklahoma State University.
