Lockheed Martin Unveils Cutting-Edge Precision Strike Missile System for Tactical Vehicles

Lockheed Martin has triumphantly supplied the Spike Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) missile system on the Oshkosh’s Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) to US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). This integration showcases the adaptability of the Spike NLOS weapon system.

“The combination of Spike NLOS’s extended range and pinpoint-strike capabilities with the JLTV’s exceptional maneuverability will yield enhanced mobility and operational efficiency for our personnel,” stated Jerry Brode, vice president of Close Combat Systems at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. “This state-of-the-art weapon system’s live video feed empowers operators to modify or cancel missions while approaching a target, providing users with additional choices in crucial moments.”

Spike NLOS is a versatile, electro-optical/infrared missile system. Its cutting-edge rocket motor enables it to achieve ranges of up to 32 kilometers. Users can seamlessly integrate Spike NLOS with terrestrial, aerial, or naval platforms—capitalizing on its standoff capability to engage distant or camouflaged targets without a direct line of sight.

Utilizing a Lockheed Martin-developed remote launcher, the weapon system can be attached effortlessly to nearly any vehicle with a standard palletized interface in under 20 minutes, requiring no vehicle alterations.

Currently, this combat-tested, long-range precision strike system is operational with U.S. forces and six allied nations.
