Introducing the KC-390 Millennium: Revolutionizing the Skies with Embraer’s Daring Vision
Confins, Brazil, September 19, 2025 – Embraer (NYSE: ERJ/ B3: EMBR3), a prominent entity in the global aerospace arena, today revealed the refreshed visual identity of the KC-390 Millennium demonstrator aircraft. The occasion, hosted in Confins, Minas Gerais, occurred at the GOL Aerotech facilities, where the aircraft exhibited its contemporary design.
This unveiling celebrates the impressive momentum of the KC-390 Program through a fresh and striking visual identity, reflecting the attributes that have allowed the Millennium to position itself as a global leader in the medium category of military tactical transportation.
“This revised visual identity represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of the KC-390 Millennium, the multi-role aircraft tailored for the 21st century. Its unmatched fusion of speed, agility, durability, reliability, advanced technology, and efficiency—taking precedence in its segment—not only augments the defense capabilities of its users but also nurtures strategic partnerships among allied countries,” remarked Bosco da Costa Júnior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security.
Triggered by a surge in worldwide demand for the KC-390 Millennium, Embraer Defense & Security intends to intensify marketing initiatives and demonstrations to potential clientele employing the new visual identity, with the first international exhibition anticipated by year-end.
The painting of the demonstrator aircraft at GOL Aerotech’s premises also sets the stage for future customization options for customers’ aircraft, in addition to enhancing Embraer’s production capabilities to satisfy global demand for the KC-390.
Since its introduction with the Brazilian Air Force in 2019, subsequently followed by the Portuguese Air Force in 2023 and the Hungarian Air Force in 2024, the KC-390 Millennium has showcased its adaptability, reliability, and performance. The existing operational fleet has achieved a mission success rate exceeding 99%, highlighting exceptional productivity within its class. So far, this cutting-edge aircraft has been selected by 11 Air Forces worldwide, featuring eight European nations and seven NATO allies.
The KC-390 Millennium offers a superior payload capacity (26 tons) compared to other medium military transport aircraft and operates at enhanced speeds (470 knots) and ranges. It is designed to conduct a wide spectrum of missions including cargo and troop transportation, medical evacuation, search and rescue (SAR), firefighting and humanitarian operations, and is suitable for temporary or unpaved airstrips, such as hard earth, soil, and gravel. The aircraft, configured for air-to-air missions under the designation KC-390, has effectively validated its aerial refueling capabilities both as a tanker and as a receiver, utilizing pods mounted beneath its wings to receive fuel from another KC-390.
