ORBITAL ATK Secures $118 Million Deal for Enhanced Aircraft Logistics Support in Iraq

Dulles, Virginia, 9 August 2016 — Orbital ATK, Inc. (NYSE: OA), a leader in aerospace and defense technologies, has secured an $11 million contract for the ongoing Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) for the Iraqi Air Force’s Armed Caravan program. This contract will fund essential CLS services, encompassing comprehensive maintenance, support training, and logistics for the modified aircraft fleet integral to the Iraqi Air Force’s security mission. Should additional options be exercised, the total value of this contract could rise to $118 million, extending its duration through 2020.

“Orbital ATK boasts a proven record in delivering critical maintenance and training to the Iraqi Air Force,” stated Cary Ralston, Vice President and General Manager of Orbital ATK’s Defense Electronic Systems Division. “We are dedicated to offering reliable and cost-effective, high-quality services, leveraging our extensive experience and adaptability to meet evolving mission requirements.”

Since 2007, Orbital ATK has been a cornerstone in supporting the Iraqi Air Force, beginning with the delivery of the first missionized Cessna 208 aircraft from the company’s Fort Worth Special Mission Aircraft facility. Over the years, Orbital ATK has provided three armed aircraft (AC-208B), three reconnaissance aircraft (RC-208B), and five trainer aircraft (TC-208B) to aid U.S. government contracts aimed at restructuring the Iraqi Air Force.

The battle-hardened AC-208B Armed Caravan configuration from Orbital ATK stands as an economical, highly reliable solution, requiring minimal personnel and facilities to operate and maintain. Its operational readiness remains exceptional since its initial deployment.

Their expertise spans outfitting various aircraft—such as the Cessna 208B Caravan, Alenia C-27J Spartan, CASA CN-235/295, Lockheed C-130 Hercules, Bombardier Dash-8, Hawker Beechcraft King Air, and Sikorsky H-60 Blackhawk—with integrated ISR and attack capabilities, in addition to Contractor Logistics Support services. Orbital ATK’s deep expertise in weaponization, mission systems architecture, and aircraft integration accelerates the deployment of these crucial capabilities.

As a leader in the defense sector, Orbital ATK’s Defense Systems Group excels in providing innovative and cost-effective precision and strike weapons, advanced propulsion and hypersonics, and missile components across diverse platforms including air, sea, and land systems.
