“Groundbreaking Flight Test: PAC-3 MSE and Aegis Weapon System Join Forces to Neutralize Target!”

In collaboration with various Department of Defense Services and Components, Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) successfully launched a PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptor from an MK-70 containerized launch system to target a cruise missile in motion. This trial signifies the inaugural instance where PAC-3 MSE was deployed in this setup, leveraging the Virtualized Aegis Weapon System, to engage a live target.

“This triumphant test highlights Lockheed Martin’s dedication to advancing mission-centric, integrated technology that ensures those who serve are equipped to counter evolving threats,” stated Tom Copeman, vice president of Strategy and Naval Programs at Lockheed Martin. “These systems are poised to provide a reliable, Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) solution with increasing capability to the U.S. to assist in safeguarding against sophisticated, maneuverable threats.”

Lockheed Martin is striving to enhance IAMD capabilities for the U.S.’s state-of-the-art combat framework to counter simultaneous advanced air, surface, and missile dangers.

PAC-3’s unparalleled Hit-to-Kill functionalities protect against sophisticated threats including tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, hypersonic projectiles, and aircraft.
