Sikorsky and AMMROC Forge Alliance to Enhance Black Hawk Helicopter Upkeep in the UAE
Today, Sikorsky, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, revealed a collaboration with Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Center (AMMROC) as a certified maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility for Lockheed Martin Black Hawk ® helicopters in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“AMMROC possesses an exclusive array of capabilities, and this agreement guarantees confidence in maintaining the Black Hawk fleet’s operational status,” remarked Jeff White, Sikorsky’s Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. “Leveraging all these operational advantages translates to enhanced Black Hawk sustainment services in the UAE by decreasing turnaround durations and expenses, while elevating repair capacities.”
“We are thrilled to deliver our premier MRO services to Lockheed Martin as a Sikorsky Authorized facility, further advancing the UAE’s status as a prominent center for aerospace excellence,” added Mahmood Alhay Alhameli, CEO of AMMROC. “Adhering to international standards and optimal practices, our state-of-the-art local facilities will offer reduced repair costs while maximizing aircraft availability.

“Lockheed Martin takes pride in expanding our alliance with AMMROC to further diversify the UAE’s defense industrial capabilities,” stated Gen. John “Mick” Nicholson (U.S. Army, Ret.), Chief Executive for Lockheed Martin Middle East. “Accelerated repair turnarounds will enhance mission preparedness and ensure our partners can effectively respond to evolving 21st century threats.”
Formalized during the Dubai Airshow 2023, the agreement will appoint AMMROC as a Sikorsky authorized facility for the repair and overhaul of 49 line replaceable units on the Black Hawk helicopter. As the inaugural international authorized MRO center for Black Hawk, AMMROC will utilize Sikorsky original equipment manufacturer data, materials, and tools to conduct maintenance on critical dynamic components such as transmission and rotor blades.
