Patria Partners with Japan Steel Works Ltd. for Innovative AMV XP Vehicle Manufacturing Program
Patria and Japan Steel Works Ltd. (JSW) finalized a licensing arrangement on 31 August 2023 for the production of Patria AMV XP 8×8 vehicles within Japan. This agreement facilitates domestic manufacturing in line with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force’s Wheeled Armored Personnel Carrier (WAPC) initiative. In December 2022, the Patria AMV XP 8×8 vehicle was chosen by this initiative to succeed the Type-96 8×8 Armored Personnel Carrier vehicles currently operational. The specifics regarding the number of new vehicles and the financial value of the agreement remain undisclosed at this moment.
