Electric Boat Secures $215 Million Boost for Submarine Ventures with US and UK Collaboration

General Dynamics has been granted a $215,655,632 amendment to their previously awarded contract N00024-19-C-2125 for engineering, technical, and design agent support, alongside planning yard assistance for operational strategic and attack submarines.

This agreement merges acquisitions for the Navy (42%); and the nation of Great Britain (58%), under the Foreign Military Sales initiative.

Tasks will be executed in Groton, Connecticut (70%); Kings Bay, Georgia (13%); Bangor, Washington (10%); Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (3%); North Kingston, Rhode Island (2%); and Newport, Rhode Island (2%), with an anticipated completion date in September 2023.

Foreign Military Sales for Great Britain (52%); and fiscal year 2020 additional procurement (Navy; 42%) funding amounting to $5,041,000 will be committed at the time of award and will not lapse at the conclusion of the current fiscal year.

The Naval Sea Systems Command, situated in Washington, D.C., is overseeing the contracting procedures.
