HENSOLDT UK is delighted to announce the provision of Kelvin Hughes Mk11 X Band SharpEye navigation radars to two Kormoran II-class minehunters of the Polish Navy. ORP Albatros and ORP Mewa were constructed by PGZ Stocznia Wojenna Shipyard located in Gdynia, Poland.

Installed in collaboration with an OSI Maritime Systems comprehensive navigation bridge system, the radar will perform navigation and surface monitoring functions, equipping the Polish Navy with robust solid-state radar sensors to guarantee navigation safety while delivering advanced capabilities for detecting small targets. This feature boosts the safety of maritime navigation and optimizes performance during operational missions.

Adrian Pilbeam, Head of Sales for Maritime Surveillance, expressed:

“HENSOLDT UK is proud to equip the Polish Navy with its inaugural SharpEye radars to support the challenging operational duties of a minehunter. This further solidifies a long-standing partnership in supplying radar sensors to OSI Maritime Systems for integration into their navigation bridge systems.”

The Polish Navy now aligns itself with over 30 navies across the globe utilizing Kelvin Hughes SharpEye radar sensors.
