KRAKEN JOINS FORCES WITH MSI-DEFENCE SYSTEMS FOR INNOVATIVE PARTNERSHIP

The British maritime enterprise Kraken Technology Group (KTG) has revealed a collaboration with MSI-Defence Systems (MSI-DS) regarding essential systems on its K50 KRAKEN naval gunship.

Based in the UK, MSI-DS is a specialist in land and naval armament systems, boasting over 120 years of expertise within the defense sector. Focusing on precision engagement, weapon guidance, remote situational awareness, and hard-kill capabilities across various host platforms, MSI-DS has pioneered cross-domain weapon systems and control technologies for maritime, land, and coastal environments.

This partnership arrangement highlights multiple avenues of cooperation and innovation between the two entities, particularly the incorporation of MSI-Defence Systems’ Seahawk Compact Weapon Station (CWS30) and Lightweight Multirole Missile (LMM) launcher (CWSM) into the K50 KRAKEN naval precision engagement craft. This will address rapid interception and enforcement demands of navies, border control forces, and law enforcement agencies.

Mal Crease, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kraken Technology Group, remarked:

“We are eager to collaborate with MSI-Defence Systems to enhance the KRAKEN with their advanced weapon systems. MSI-DS is widely acknowledged for developing, delivering, and maintaining weapon systems that exhibit exceptional performance and accuracy. This partnership will fulfill critical aspects of the KRAKEN’s unique precision engagement objectives, which includes five distinct types of integrated weapon systems that encompass aerial, surface, and sub-surface engagement.”

John Meldrum, Managing Director at MSI Defence Systems Limited, stated:

“I believe that the MSI-DS and Kraken collaboration represents a formidable alliance, and we are excited about working together on the revolutionary K50 KRAKEN platform. This fully armed and comprehensive maritime precision engagement vessel, boasting formidable weaponization, will provide unmatched levels of performance, versatility, and operational capability for contemporary green and brown water security missions.”
