Minesweeper Vessel “Al Kassih 2”, No. 502, arrived at the Algerian Northern Admiralty Dock on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, as reported by Algeria’s Ministry of National Defence.
This development is part of “the execution of the initiative for enhancement and modernisation of the Algerian naval fleet, aimed at strengthening the combat capabilities of the People’s National Army and the Naval Forces,” stated the Algerian Ministry of National Defence.
“Al Kassih 2″ Minesweeper is the second of its type obtained by Algeria, intended for safeguarding navigation within its waters and shielding commercial vessels from mine-related threats during wartime or crises,” the Ministry further elaborated.
