Forging Stronger Ties: Naval Group and PT PAL Unite for Enhanced Collaboration

On February 10, 2022, Pierre Eric Pommellet, CEO of Naval Group, and Kaharuddin Djenod, CEO of PT PAL, executed a Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of General Prabowo Subianto, Indonesia’s Minister of Defence, alongside Florence Parly, French Minister of the Armed Forces.

Naval Group and PT PAL formalized a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at harnessing the strengths of both organizations to address the expanding demands of the Indonesian Navy.

Both firms are frontrunners in their respective sectors and affirm their commitment to enhance their collaboration to deliver innovative solutions that cater to the needs of the Indonesian Navy, including the establishment of a joint R&D center that will involve additional Indonesian enterprises.

Naval Group and PT PAL MoU Signing

During the signing, Dr. Kaharuddin Djenod, CEO of PT PAL, stated that “this is a significant milestone for our two nations. The French government is sincerely committed to supporting Indonesia in enhancing its defense capabilities. We, at PT PAL, are honored to play a pivotal role in this historic occasion.”

Pierre Eric Pommellet, CEO of Naval Group, expressed, “we embrace the announcements made by the Minister of Defence of Indonesia to foster collaboration in the submarine sector between PT PAL and Naval Group. We have executed a Memorandum of Understanding for this purpose and eagerly anticipate partnering on the submarine initiative to fulfill the needs of the Indonesian Navy and to fortify the Indonesian naval and defense industry.
