UK Places NLAW Order with Saab: A New Military Partnership Emerges

Saab has finalized a contract with and secured an order from the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence for the Next Generation Light Anti-Tank Weapon system (NLAW). The order is valued at around SEK 2.9 billion, with deliveries scheduled for 2023-2026.

NLAW is a portable, anti-tank guided missile system designed to target tanks from an elevated angle.

“The demand for anti-tank systems like NLAW is on the rise. We are eager to further enhance our close collaboration with the UK and are honored to keep providing our established and reliable anti-tank solution,” states Saab’s President and CEO Micael Johansson.

NLAW merges the ease of light anti-armour ordnance with the benefits of heavy, crew-operated guided missile technologies. Utilizing NLAW, a lone soldier can neutralize a fortified contemporary main battle tank at distances ranging from 20 to 800 meters.
