Naval Group Secures New Milestones with Fresh FDI HN Contracts

On May 9th, 2023, at the DEFEA exhibition in Athens, Naval Group formalized new agreements with five Greek enterprises, aligning with Naval Group’s ambitious Hellenic Industrial Participation (HIP) strategy associated with the FDI HN (Hellenic Navy) frigates initiative. These agreements signify the Group’s dedication to cultivating and establishing a robust industrial collaboration with the Greek industry.

Naval Group’s Hellenic Industrial Participation plan commenced in March 2022 with the inception of the FDI HN program. Following the agreements established on May 9th at DEFEA, the HIP activities now encompass over 60 Greek companies, generating high-skilled employment opportunities and economic advantages for Greece. The newly finalized contracts at the DEFEA exhibition pertain to:

  • SALAMIS SHIPYARDS: pre-outfitting operations on hull segments for both Greek and French FDI;
  • THEON, an EFA Group firm: optronic tasks onboard FDI HN in collaboration with our key partner SAFRAN;
  • MEVACO: multiple new contracts for the manufacturing and provision of mechanical apparatus for the FDI;
  • PRISMA: fabrication of naval weapon components;
  • MALLIONDA: new roles for welders and pipe fitters at Naval Group’s shipyard in Lorient.

Enhancing Naval Industrial Activity in Greece

Naval Group and the Greek defense sector are forging a sustainable alliance that consistently showcases its exceptional expertise and capacity to deliver top-notch equipment and services. The goal of Naval Group is to expand its presence in Greece through collaborations with the Greek industry, as well as research and academic institutions. In this context, Naval Group aims to augment the involvement of Hellenic companies in its global supply chain, providing them the chance to engage in other initiatives and forthcoming international tenders.
