Pakistan Navy Celebrates 14th Leadership Milestone in Combined Task Force-150

In a significant event, the Pakistan Navy has assumed command of Combined Task Force-150 (CTF-150) for the 14th time during a formal change of command ceremony held at the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) headquarters in Bahrain. Commodore Muhammad Yasir Tahir has taken over from Commodore Fahad S. Al Joaid of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF).

During his address, Commodore Muhammad Yasir Tahir expressed confidence in his team’s preparedness to embrace this important role. He emphasized the commitment of the Pakistan Navy to enhance maritime security and stability in the region. Additionally, he reaffirmed the Navy’s determination to combat illicit maritime activities, ensuring the protection of essential sea lanes.

CTF-150 is one of five operational task forces under the CMF umbrella. Its primary mission focuses on deterring and disrupting non-state actors involved in the trafficking of weapons, narcotics, and other illegal goods across strategic maritime routes like the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and Gulf of Oman. The successful anti-narcotics operations executed by the Pakistan Navy during the RSNF’s leadership of CTF-150 highlight the Navy’s dedication to regional peace and collaborative maritime security efforts.

The change of command ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the Ambassador of Pakistan to Bahrain, H.E. Mr. Saqib Rauf, Vice Admiral Curt A. Renshaw, Commander Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohamed Ebrahim Al Bin Ali, and delegates from various other navies participating under the CMF.
