Saab Enhances Bulgarian Navy’s Patrol Fleet with Cutting-Edge Technology

Saab has entered into an agreement with the German shipbuilding firm Lürssen and has secured an order to supply and integrate the advanced combat system for the Bulgarian Navy’s new Multipurpose Modular Patrol Vessels, MMPV.

Lürssen serves as the primary contractor for the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence and will construct the two new patrol vessels at the Bulgarian shipyard MTG Dolphin JSC. The vessels are anticipated to be delivered to the end customer between 2025 and 2026.

“We take pride in our ongoing successful collaboration with Lürssen. We are eager to assist in enhancing Bulgaria’s defence capabilities and national security for years ahead with our established technology and robust naval combat system proficiency,” states Anders Carp, deputy CEO of Saab and head of the Surveillance business area.

Saab will perform the work at its facilities located in Sweden, Denmark, Australia, and South Africa.
