“SEA Secures Game-Changing Contract for South American Torpedo Launch System”

TORPEDO LAUNCHER SYSTEM

British defense and security electronics expert SEA has been selected to deliver its Torpedo Launcher System (TLS) to a multi-vessel initiative in South America. This agreement follows the system’s implementation by the UK Royal Navy and several prominent international navies in areas encompassing North America and South-East Asia.

In operation with the UK Royal Navy for over three decades, SEA’s torpedo launcher is weapon-neutral – offering versatility that has attracted naval forces globally. Its distinctive design ensures rapid upgrades throughout its operational lifespan, significantly mitigating the risk of capacity obsolescence linked to ammunition availability. The system can deploy US Mk 44, Mk 46, and Mk 54 torpedoes, UK Sting Ray, Italian A244S, French MU 90, and the Korean Blue Shark, and can also be tailored to accommodate other munitions as needed.

Featuring a modular and adaptable design, the TLS aligns with the specifications for the Global Combat Ship Type 26 frigate – a cutting-edge frigate architecture successfully deployed by navies around the globe.

Richard Flitton, Managing Director of SEA, remarked: “This contract acquisition signifies a pivotal moment in our goal to share the finest of the industry’s innovations with naval forces worldwide. This progress also underscores our footprint in South America, presenting a platform to enhance and cater to future naval demands in the area.”

“The versatility of SEA’s weapon-neutral Torpedo Launcher System ensures the longevity of new vessels and offers navies a selection of suppliers for munitions, facilitating greater adaptability and long-term value. We eagerly anticipate collaborating closely with our partners from all corners of the globe to fulfill the rising demand for sophisticated and customizable torpedo launcher solutions.”

SEA delivers a comprehensive array of naval defense capabilities, including an innovative trainable decoy launcher and an anti-submarine warfare solution, the Krait Defence System, to the defense sector, supporting navies worldwide including the United Kingdom, South America, South East Asia, and Australia.
