Raytheon Scores Big: A $3.5 Billion Breakthrough in AMRAAM Missile Deals!

The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded Raytheon, a subsidiary of RTX, a monumental $3.5 billion contract for the production of Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM), marking the largest agreement in the program’s history. This deal includes Foreign Military Sales to several nations, such as Japan, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine.

This agreement underscores the persistent global demand for the proven AMRAAM, which has been an essential air superiority system for over three decades. It follows a notable $1.2 billion production contract granted to Raytheon less than a year ago.

“As international tensions rise and aerial threats adapt, AMRAAM consistently gives allied forces a critical edge in conflict,” remarked Sam Deneke, president of Air & Space Defense Systems at Raytheon. “This agreement highlights the important role that the fifth-generation AMRAAM plays in preserving air dominance and will ensure that our service members have the cutting-edge technology necessary to maintain an upper hand against adversarial threats.”

AMRAAM is currently deployed across 14 platforms and utilized by 44 nations, demonstrating an impressive efficiency record in both air-to-air and surface-to-air missions. Its proven performance in active combat environments reinforces its strategic importance to U.S. and allied military forces.
