Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) disclosed on Thursday that senior officials from the United Arab Emirates Air Force inspected South Korea’s cutting-edge KF-21 fighter jet manufacturing and development facilities.

The UAE delegation, led by Major General Rashid Mohammed Al Shamsi, Commander of the UAE Air Force and Air Defense, visited KAI’s main office in Sacheon, located 291 kilometers southeast of Seoul, as reported by the company.

The group reviewed the production lines of the KF-21 fighter jet and the FA-50 light strike aircraft.

Brigadier General Azan Ali Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, Chief of the Air Warfare Center in the UAE Air Force, participated in a test flight of a KF-21 prototype.

This visit is part of efforts to bolster defense cooperation between Seoul and Abu Dhabi.

According to the Korean establishment, under a preliminary agreement reached during the visit, the UAE Air Force will have the chance to observe air exercises featuring the KF-21 and tour South Korean units that will operate this state-of-the-art fighter jet.

The KF-21 fighter jet is scheduled for delivery to the South Korean Air Force in the coming year.
